SPLASH

Acrylic on Canvas 122 x 61 cm
The stunning Yorkshire Stone house in which this and its companion ‘Splish’ hang is architecturally traditional with beautiful stone mullioned windows and other interesting features. On entering, the breathtaking interior, styled by designbyjobee.co.uk, opens up to the South, with full floor to ceiling glass all along the back. The blue of the sky and the azure swimming pool glimpsed from within and the view of the moors in the distance combined with the Farrow & Ball pelt kitchen were the colour inspiration for these two abstract paintings to hang in this wonderful space reflecting the uplifting, bright, sunny and fresh interior. The delightful couple who commissioned the paintings commented, ‘Thank you so much, they really are works of art! We both love them’
During the creative process the song ‘Splish Splash’ by Bobby Darin, a party song, banned from the radio back in 1958 was constantly playing in my head. (Listen on youtube.com) Thus the titles.
