ILKLEY FOUNTAIN – TINKER GALLERY, Ilkley 4 – 20 April
March 25, 2024

Tinker Gallery, 25 Church Street, Ilkley, LS29 9DR
.
Improving Ilkley, a charity that is hoping to reinstate the Mill Ghyll fountain designed by Juliet Gutch, is based around Sphagnum moss, a vital plant for Ilkley Moor. As part of the fundraising process, an exact replica model has been fabricated and will tour around Ilkley from late March early April.
.
Kickstarting the tour will be an auction event at the Tinker Gallery, the theme being ‘Ilkley Fountain’ with suggestions below as inspiration.
.
‘Responding to the fountain design and the immediate vicinity, plus Ilkley Moor and water, it is envisaged that your work will form a supportive backdrop plus help to add some funding towards ensuring our project can proceed. Please draw inspiration from the following: ‘green of Spring’, ‘fresh and new’, ‘moss’ and ‘water’ when creating your work.’
.
I am donating my painting ‘Spring has Sprung’ to be auctioned to support this initiative.
